Brand the Interpreter
What if La Malinche—the Indigenous woman who famously served as interpreter and advisor to Hernán Cortés during the Spanish conquest of Mexico—could share her stories? The Rhythm of Language with Dominique Cordero
After boarding a plane on a one-way ticket to Barcelona in 2011 to live with a host family she had never met, the life of today’s guest changed forever when she spent a year becoming fluent in Spanish.
Dominique’s unique take on how to learn Spanish as an adult has inspired many to jump into language learning. She has helped hundreds of her students build confidence in communicating with their families, having authentic connections with locals on their travels, and simply living the language. Dominique reminds us that “it’s never too late to learn a new language”
She is based in Austin, Texas, where she loves to go salsa dancing at the W Hotel and paddle boarding on Lady Bird Lake. But you’ll also find her in Mexico City for good chunks of the year, spending time with her husband’s family.
Only on the podcast that brings you your stories about our profession. Brand the Interpreter.
